The defendant's exasperation sums it up:

*“People are on drugs and just harassing people and doing whatever they want, they get away with it, but the minute you stand up for yourself, the prosecutors want to put you in jail,” Enoe told The Post.*

Over and over again the minimization of wokeness is that it's just a bunch of inconsequential blue haired college students.  The reality for people that actually live with it isn't the pronouns or bathrooms, it's this - zealous city attorneys that fail to prosecute and serial offenders that harass *everyone* while aggressively going after people that fight back.  The consequences here are declining quality of life.

He clarifies that this is new information, separate from the previously known flight logs and Epstein's "black book". Then Trump publicly denied being told his name was in the files, stating he only received a "very quick briefing." However, in a later interview, Trump seemed to acknowledge his name was in the files but claimed the information was "fake" ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Senator Dick Durbin stated the FBI was explicitly instructed to flag any mention of Trump's name. Furthermore, House Speaker Mike Johnson controversially cut the legislative week short, a move that prevented a vote on the full release of the Epstein files. So nice cover-up, especially given Johnson's prior public statements supporting transparency. And there's the letter Trump allegedly wrote to Epstein, which is now the subject of a $10 billion lawsuit filed by Trump against The Wall Street Journal, with the attorney for Epstein's survivors, Bradley Edwards, has stated that the executors of Epstein's estate are in possession of the birthday book containing this letter and are willing to turn it over to authorities.

And there's a planned private meeting between the Department of Justice and Ghislaine Maxwell, but with the deep concern that this meeting will not be a public testimony before Congress, as some had hoped, rather than a private discussion with the same officials who have been accused of covering up information. Thus, his private meeting is just another performative act and that true transparency will only be achieved with the full, unredacted release of all Epstein-related documents.

I was never a big Twitter user, but just before the news broke nearly 3 years ago that Elon was officially gonna buy it, I'd already made the decision to step back from social media and I successfully took a year long hiatus away from all of them.

Obviously, I was aware via occasional skims through the Google News headlines of various changes/mandates being implemented at Twitter by Elon and, as time has gone on, more and more people have commented on the deleterious effects of Elon's mission to remake Twitter into an anti-woke, right wing platform. Sam himself has mentioned the way Twitter has degraded.

But for nearly 3 years, I'd not been on the site. Well, I created a brand new account a few days ago, followed a single, non-partisan account, and I think I selected a few interest tags about being interested in various kinds of "news" (tech news, local news, political news, etc). What is now being propagated to my main feed is so bad that, as bad as I thought it may be, it's much worse. The amount of open misogyny, racism, antisemitism, and straight up Nazi/Hitler apologia is genuinely terrifying to see.

Yesterday, directly under a post of Elon's that was boosted into my feed was a conspiracy post about the Rothschilds from what I assume is some kind of neo-Nazi account and the replies were filled with open praising of Hitler. Plenty of likes and positive reinforcement. No meaningful pushback or even attempts to push back on the post. And I kinda get it. What's the point?

And this kind of thing is **constant**. My For You Page is 80%-90% *this* kind of stuff. Now, I'm sure if I put in some work to refine my algorithm, I would stop seeing so much of it. But Elon has clearly worked to make this kind of content the default baseline for the platform.

Pretty grim stuff.

This is unrelated to the law topic, but I didn't want to start a whole new post...

I'm considering starting my JS journey (lol). After reading a few posts here, it seems really daunting. Either way, I'm planning to go visit relatives in Sulmona for the first time this fall, and I wanted to make it a productive visit. My father's parents were both born in Abruzzo in the 30s. I believe they both naturalized as US citizens. There is a vacant property in Sulmona that to my knowledge, is owned by my family and my father and uncle are on the "title", I guess. Maybe that will help. I'd like to start visiting there more regularly, like once a year, and help to fix up that property, at least as a vacation home. In the meantime, work towards a dual-citizenship.   


Very early on. I realize this is a loooong process. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Isn't the ruling coalition (or perhaps just Tajani's party, FI, more specifically) trying to have it both ways when it comes to the argument that Italy's citizenship laws must be consistent with EU standards?

It's well established that they are not acting in good faith, but it seems inconsistent to say that Italy needs to eliminate unlimited JS to be in line with other EU countries on citizenship by descent while also promoting *ius scholae*. I don't think *ius scholae* is a bad proposal, but I haven't seen it proposed in any EU country other than Italy as a naturalization mechanism, so enacting it would again bring Italy out of line with other EU countries on that front. The same goes for proposals to enact *ius soli* (or at least elements of it), with Ireland having been the last EU country to eliminate *ius soli* about 20 years ago.

My GGM was born in the USA to Italian born parents (GGGF and GGGM) who never naturalized. 

She also married an Italian born man (GGF) who naturalized after they got married (1923) but before my GM was born (1930). This broke the direct line to my GM, but maintained a marriage line to my GGM.

So, who is my LIBRA in this situation – GGGF who transmitted citizenship via parentage or GGF through marriage (although my GGM was already Italian through her parents)?  And who is then considered the first generation – GGM or GM?

My attorney intends to argue both sides of the equation, but I still need to fill out some forms and organize files by LIBRA and generations and this has me going in circles.

It was a microaggression I wasn’t previously cognizant of and it doesn’t have a place here. All judicial cases *are* JS cases and deserve respect equal to administrative JS applications.

Who is anxious about the possible court decision ?

For those who have signed a Power of Attorney for their 1948 attorney, did the document include any limiting language, a period of validity or method of revocation? The document I recently received is extremely broad and doesn’t even mention its application is relative or limited to the recognition of Italian citizenship. It basically states that its application is meant to apply to the widest interpretation of Italian law and also gives the attorney certain financial authorities that make me a bit queasy. It isn’t that I don’t want to trust my attorney, who is well know and widely respected, but this isn’t like anything I’m used to seeing.

I could have sworn I’ve seen this info somewhere, but I can’t find it. @Cake, since the defendant for 1948 cases is different from ATQ cases, is it possible search cases filed after 3/27/25 and see when the first 1948 case will be heard post decree?

Has anyone else had any bad experiences with the Honorary Consulate in Seattle (or really Burien)?


In my case, I spent about two months trying to schedule an appointment with the Honorary Consul to authenticate the signature on my brother's POA, only for her to tell me that only the San Francisco Consulate could do that. 


This is despite the fact that: a) I attached the MAECI resolution appointing her to the position of Honorary Consul, which clearly showed that she had the power to do what I was asking; and b) I showed her my POA authenticated by the Embassy of Italy in Mexico City so that it was clear to her exactly what the final document was supposed to look like.
